Popped along the The Richard Taylor Rally yesterday, and spent all day talking about Rovers :)

Loads of people turned up

Sparky showed off well as usual :)

I almost took this home

Brace of SD1s

Other makes arrived as well, Citroen 2CV mega motor

ermmm..

What on earth? Two door Mk3 with less pronounced coke bottling - Apparently it's a Taunus, only the second one I have ever seen.

This was enormous, very impressive, but huge.

Clean P6B

A mate of mine had one, so similar looking to the Cortina, yet virtually nothing is the same, so I never quite understood why they didn't make a completely different model. His one was a mix of Mk3 & Mk4 Cortina, Mk3 at the front, getting more Mk4 the closer you got to the back.o_O

Looks like a lovely day.

Pardon my ignorance but is this named after our Richard Taylor?

It is indeed. It's organised by the Yorkshire Rover Club with whom Richard was very much involved. It's actually where I first met him.

Richard

Wish I'd known - is it every year?
The Richard Taylor rally is held every year, usually the first Sunday in June. It's 'home' is on the lawn immediately in front of Oakwell Hall, Birstall near Batley. Space is limited to 65 cars, so if you want to go, it's best to book early. Always advertized in the Morgan's Yearbook. This year we had about 40% Rovers and 60% other makes. Dave
