reversing switch again

Hi all, just wondering if someone might be able to tell me if I remove the reverse light/ inhibitor switch on my bw35 will transmission oil pour out of its aperture?
The reverse lights don't work and the wires are on but I can see considerable movement between the metal housing of the switch and the black plastic that the terminals extrude from, and wonder if it needs something tightened.
does it unscrew with a left hand thread and is the nut a locking nut that tightens against the transmission housing.
Thanks in advance for your help
Karl

Unless the car has been left standing for long enough for the converter to drain back into the box (should that be a problem with that particular box) then you should be able to remove the inhibitor switch without oil pouring out. It's a normal thread, and the nut is a locknut against the casing.
