Reduction in RPM while idling

Sounds like a plan :)

Happy to be of service Raf, hope that sorts it!

Ron.

Hi Ron, I moved the pump above the carb, to its first position before this happened, it died once and a few times when I engaged R, the engine felt it was about to stall. I sure have to drive it more to see if it has been eradicated.

By the way, my electronic ignition kit, i.e more powerful coil, electronic points and better HT leads, are coming soon. Do you think it will help eliminate the issue?

Hi guys, happy to report the issue looks like it has been solved after I moved the pump above the carb. I drove to the city for about 40km and rpm needle consistently stayed at 700 and didnt flick up or down. So far so good. Will update again once I received my ignition kit. Thx u all

Hi Raf,

I do apologise for missing your post, but from your subsequent post, the problem seems to have been solved, so fingers crossed that the relocation of the pump held the answer.

Hi guys and Ron especially, after driving for more than. 300km in the city and back and cruising with all 5, 1 wife and 3kids, she's been so reliable and never skipped a beat. Engine runs well and no more idling issue too. So it was vapourisation issue after all and moving the pump on the upper wing works very well. And ended up not having to buy a new pump too. So saved me some $. Thanks to Al's work on the fuel line and tank...I'm very pleased that I can go to the city with her and not worry about being stuck on the shoulder of Auckland's notorious motorway. I will be starting a new job soon, so hopefully she'll be my daily, if she's economical enough that is. New leads and coil and ignition coming this week. Will shout if I need help. Thx guys. Case closed.
