Recolouring seats

Hi,

I'm embarking on an interior colour swap from bronze to black and have acquired some buckskin coloured seats as mine are falling apart. Obviously the seats are part leather, part vinyl. I was going to dye the seats with a furniture clinic kit and recolour the vinyl parts with a black vinyl dye. I am aware though that once recoloured, the leather will not accept hide food in the future should they become dry, this was confirmed by the Furniture Clinic. Whilst browsing Frosts website for paints for the engine bay etc, I came across their liquid Plastic dye which claims to dye both leather and vinyl and allows the use of hide food afterwards. Has anyone here experience of using this product, it would certainly be easier to use one product for the seats rather than two.
