Rear suspension height

I have always thought my car looked slightly low at the back, so before I put it up on axle stands for the winter, can anyone tell me the measurement between the wheel centre and the bottom of the wheel arch.
If it is low, springs and probably shocks will be on my winter shopping list.

Thanks

Here’s the relevant page from the manual for a series I 2000/2000TC. Should give you all you need

Hi sdibbers

I should have said mine is a 72 v8, dont know if that will make any difference.
If you have put a link on I dont seem to be able to open it (probably my lack of IT skills)

Thanks for your prompt reply

Those dimensions are probably no longer relevant as they totally depend on having the correct factory tyres and tyre pressures.
Wheel centre to wheel arch as you've inquired about is one of the best ways indeed to check your ride height. (takes tyres and wheels out of the equation)
Mine is 215 mm both sides. Not saying this is correct but a starting guide for you. My car has relatively new aftermarket "factory height" springs.

As an aside. It you subtract B from D you get 135mm (early) or 142mm (late), add the distance from the ground to the wheel center and that'll give you an adjusted height for the trailing arm body mount. Certainly not as easy as measuring the wheel arch to center dim, but number at least.

Hi guys
Managed to open the attachment and that looks quite awkward while lying on my back with the car on the ground, however I will give it a try tomorrow and see what figure I get (hopefully)
What I did today was to measure the distance from wheel centre to wheel arch. The method I used was to hold a spirit level to the centre of the wheel and measure vertically to the wheel arch. The result was 195mm on the drivers side and 200mm on the passenger side which was a surprise as the spare wheel and my tools are on the passenger side.
So my car is sitting 15-20mm lower than Peters and I will have to decide if I can live with that or splash out over the winter.

Thanks

Lay on my back today and took some measurements but had to look out the manual because there is a difference between suffix A and suffix B cars (mine is B). Anyway I came to the conclusion that the height just about meets the spec so I am going on the assumption that if it aint broke dont fix it. This will save me some money and as a Scotsman thats a bonus
