As I went through cycles of heat, release oil, drift, cold chisel, swearing etc to remove the metal plates that were the remnants of the bump stops that were no longer present, a thought came to mind...........Dear Mr or Mrs Bump Stop, please can you make these such that the rubber bit doesn't fall off, or, alternatively, that the fixing left exposed after rubber loss has a hex head as opposed to an ungrippable coach bolt style - that, plus the handy wee slots on the plate would make this a nice five minute job. I might send this to Santa, as bump stops were an early Xmas present to self.
Still, not really complaining, both removed, no threads damaged, and the plinths very solid under the removed bits. So pleased that I will post a picture once I have it all together - needed a bit of a tidy up and paint. And it was still easier than the palaver I had doing this on my old MGB.
