really early rear quarter

Got a bit of a surprise today when I went to trial fit the rear light assembly. I know the quarter was from a very early car because of the loverly wedgewood blue paint and the threaded blocks (like the door hinge mounts) on the rear instead of the stud with bent over tabs but I did not realise the light mount only had two of the three cut outs. Now modified and looking great. Any idea when they changed design? IMG_2161.JPG

I believe it was changed from February 1966.

It's interesting what you say about the fixings - my early car had no wings on when I got it so I haven't come across the early type.

yep, look to be exactly the same square flat steel plate as the door hinge mounts. Bolts would have to mount from inside the boot and under the car near the rear bumper.
