Ratchets!

we all have a favourite ratchet, one that feels like it fits in your hand and makes every job easier, and if forced to work without it it all feels 'wrong'

so what is yours?

mine is a 1/4" Snapon long handled ratchet which is just a dream to use, its long enough to be used for most tasks (unless you need bigger socketry) and feels excellent in the hand! ive been forced to use many other ratchets over the years and alot of them feel like they havent been designed with a user in mind or the teeth are too course. teng ratchets feel like they have been designed around a velociraptor, halfords ones are too course toothed, beta are not great either!

so what ratchets do you prefer and in what drive size, it a 1/4 and 3/8th man myself, only straying up to 1/2" for jobs that need it, i own very few 'alf inch' sockets

My 1/4" is a Facom with the rubber grip and my 3/8" is a Snap-On. Also have Beta and Palmera ratchets which are very good.

Have a look at Palmera or Snap-On Eurotool, they are the budget stuff from Snap-On and can more than handle their own.
