Project...... 'PHAT' Rover!

I like the diff install using tube, tube is somehow more elegant than box.

A couple of questions. The large 10mm plate on the top of the diff that joins to the new box crossmember that is suspended on the original diff mount locations, is that box rubber mounted on the original style mounts ?
What about the forward end of that plate where it bolts to the floor, is that solid, or rubber mounted ?

Same question for the two tubes that rise from the lower 'torque' tubes to the floor.

Hi cobraboy, further to your questions, after reading 302 rover, and him dumping the clutch and not reporting a problem using the original rubber mounts, i did the same, although i have not put all my faith in such an idea, so i made round large dished plates to sit on top of the bushes should they then decide to give up with the weight suspended, and drop down a touch, then i would rebolt the thick plate to the floor, strengthening the area, like the other bolted up areas i have created. the forward end i bolted to the floor and plated, bolts being through a sleeved box section between springs and up against the back seat brace panel for strength.

The bars from the diff to the front are solid mounted on high strength bolts to the susp arm positions, with extra plating either side of.

I will try and keep the temptation of dumping the clutch at lights etc, but I will admit to squirting it a lot!

must add, when i first built the car, one of the first jobs i did was strengthen the suspension arms as i had seen photos of them snapped and rear of car on floor, youch! so i laid thick bar along each side to strengthen, they may have supported the weight in its early years but arms after 60 years are wearing thin now, and i wasnt impressed with the thickness of the metal used back then for such an important job, but we all see through different eyes, and safety comes first. For todays P6 owners info these are photos of another two areas where i paid much attention too.

I like your approach to corset, belt, and braces !

I was asking about mountings from a noise, vibration, and harshness point of view, it will be interesting to see if you think more of these issues come from the rear of the car.
But if you have a 'nice sounding exhaust' then it may not be possible to tell the difference ;)

I like the front spoilers, they cover up the wheels nicely from the front and make the car appear lower.

Hi Cobraboy
I appreciate your comments, as you either hate it or like it, I went round the block and didn't hear or feel anything amiss, time always tells doesn't it!
the car sits quite high actually. here are pic of how I was given it to dump by a neighbour, and a pic of admirers or haters, at a retro show before the V8.
