Problem with 1972 Rover 2000 automatic

I don't suppose you know anyone in the North that would look at this for us? We're very close to just dumping the car on ebay 'as is' and taking the (likely) huge loss as we're sick and fed up of it, I'm sure you appreciate the feeling :), which seems a shame when I'm sure we're quite close to it being right but we need to have a plan, it can't just sit here. No problem if not, thank you for all your help!

Sorry but I'm afraid I don't know of anyone in your area that can fix it for you. TBH unless you pay for the repairs where you've had it done you won't get the car out of there to take it anywhere else, so I'd persevere with getting it put right there. Otherwise you'll be paying for the job twice. Another thing, you've given them multiple opportunities for them to get it right, so I'd be on to trading Standards as well.

PS If you have paid for it, then I'd DEFINITELY be on to Trading Standards.

After a nice sleep it occurred to me that I have had some rods bent at right angles at the very end. That does make them very hard to straighten without risking them breaking in service.

Per haps you could suggest to your repairer for him to take the offending items out so you can match the parts when getting replacements. Once the rods are sorted he will then have to fix the actual problem....

perhaps someone on here has a set of rods you could borrow?
