Parts and suppliers

I am looking to buy some bits for my car to be shipped in a container and I need some pointers for suppliers and part numbers, please.
I have an opportunity to stick some bits in a container for free, so I hope to jump on it and get some normally costly to ship bits for the Rove...
1) Carpet set
2) Half shaft and driveshaft U-joints
3) Doors, bootlid, rear decker panel, window rubbers and whatever seals I may need for an original car to get it weatherproof and looking good.
4) Uprated springs

On a related note, I am looking at a 4.6 engine to stick into the car and need to know what I need to change for it to fit.... front cover? Anything else that needs changing?

For carpets, go to Coverdale. They are the manufacturers of most if not all classic and kit car carpets in the UK. You'll find that the P6 supplier who stocks them gets them from Coverdale and puts a wedge on. Also, most of those on ebay are the same but just the cheaper versions.

I'd go to Mark Gray for the UJ's and especially springs (in fact I will be soon). Some members have reporting new springs sagging after a very short time (year or more) from springs bought from else where. Mark has his made to spec.

Panels..... ask on here. Plenty of good ones in people's stores. Or ask on the Club facebook group.

Thanks, Michael.
Only now that I read my number 3 items do I realise what a complete hash I have made if it.
It should read,
3) SEALS for doors, bootlid, rear decker panel, etc and not the actual panels...... DOH, stupid boy....

Hi John,

To fit into your P6B, you'll need to change, in addition to the front cover, the sump, inlet manifold, starter motor, exhaust manifolds. You will also need to acquire the spacer that sits between the crankshaft pulley and the retention bolt, as the nose on the large journal crankshaft is quite a bit longer than that on the small journal crankshafts, which includes the P6B. There are various other changes that you will need to make, but these won't preclude the engine from fitting into your P6B.

Anything that you wish to know in this regard I am more than happy to help.
Ron.

Haha! No worries. For seals, Wins Ltd have a huge selection and ship internationally. They also list on ebay as 989nmg, which is sometimes a few pennies cheaper:

Scott's Old Auto Rubber in Vic, Australia might be just as easy to ship to you in SA.
