P6ROC National Rally, Sunday 14th June

Hi Everyone,

Last year, before our National rally at Duxford, Chris York suggested that we all have name badges because we converse almost daily here on the forum, yet we don't know each other from 'Adam' in person. I offered to make up badges for anyone who asked and PM'd me with their home email address. These badges can then either be printed off and put in your windscreen (as mine is) or make a small one up and stick it on your shirt (or both), it's up to you.

All I can say is it worked wonders. At the last national rally, I met loads of people who went out of their way to say "hello" simply because I had my badge in my windscreen and they wanted to say Hi.

So, if you've paid your subs to come to the rally (and if you haven't, get a bl@@dy move on) let me have your email address and I'll do you a badge. I used the Rover logo and some graphics from our old forum to create this:

So far I've done one for:
eadmr04
Erik The Viking
Hector H Sutherland
Mike Breading
Phil Robson
Pilkie
testrider
vaultsman

If you've got an interesting icon - like this one I couldn't resist for Erik the Viking, we can put that on too (but you'll have to send it to me!):

So.......I'm taking orders.......

If I did one for you last year and you've lost it - I've still got it, let me know and I'll resend it to you.

Lets make a big effort this year to get to know each other and make it a big friendly gathering.

Cheers,
Brian.

Still got mine thanks Brian and I display in the windscreen at all the shows I go to although I don't seem to bump in to many of you lot (or any of the P6ROC) at them though.

I'm definitely going to Twycross. There won't be any monkeys swinging off my door mirrors will there?

I can't go because I am going to Goathland for one of their classic weekends.

Can I have one anyway? :) :)

It would be good to display it at any shows I attend.

Richard

Water pump and fuel pump sorted. Next is the MOT - If this gets done and passes then i'll be there.

Look out for LXC 97L on the day. She'll be up for sale.

She sits in the garage not doing the miles that she should do and when she does go out for the day she is a joy to drive.

I've had her for three years and has sailed though each.

Fancy something different to play with. Maybe a GT6 next although.

If you're interested please PM me.

This years national rally will be held on sunday 14th June at Twycross Zoo, CV9 3PX

Do have a great time. If it wasn't for the clash with the very last NTPR in North Wales, I'd be there

Can I just ask if anyone knows which entrance at Twycross the cars arrive at. When the Vanden Plas / Wolseley / Westminster met they used the side entrance into the field which was 1/4 mile past the main entrance (from A5 end). I only ask because if it's busy you could be in the queue for the zoo only to find out you're at the wrong entrance.

According to the P6 News, we're looking for a side entrance reached via Orton Lane, which is off the A444, a few hundred yards from the main entrance, travelling towards the M42.

I have my entry pack here and I agree that is the entrance we will be using.

I've printed a special T-Shirt for the day, see if you can spot me !

Rick,
You don't think the photo on "C'mon now...don't be shy!" might also help identify you?????

She's passed her third MOT with flying colours so i'll be there.

What time can we get into Twycross?

The rally starts at 10am, I would suggest that you don't get there too early (i.e. not before 10am) to give the guys time to get setup etc. Having run plenty of rallies myself I know how frustrating it can be having cars turn up while you're trying to get the rally control tent up !

Best of luck to all attendnig the rally on Sunday - hope you have an excellent day! And make sure you come away with a new committee - or at least a workable plan!

I wish Lucky and I could join you but I shall be driving a small truck load of sweet corn from central Thailand to market in Bangkok!

Yes, a very nice weekend. Good hotel in Market Bosworth with a lovely pub just around the corner (Ye olde Red Lion) & blinding weather for the rally today as the backs of my legs testify to. And the zoo has more primates than you can shake a stick at, even when we all left. And Bruiser ran perfectly for the 354 mile round trip including a detour to pick up another £10 sharkstooth valance off ebay.

Ah, is that what that valance is ?, I was just discussing it with a mate, and comparing it to the yellow custom job in the gallery.

Great to see Bruiser in the flesh.

Great meet today at Twycross. Can I add my thanks to Hugh for the organisation and running of the event.

Great to meet you guys in the flesh before I head back up to Edinburgh to start a new job at the end of the month.

Hope to see you all again in the future.

cheers.

Dave

ps I'm sure my car would've been third......

Didn't get round to chatting with you today Dave...but glad you could get down to the rally. Good luck in your new job!

And I think there should have been a plaque for the least distance travelled...you wouldn't believe what a trawl it is up from Leicester.

Well done to Hugh...and to the weather gods, not my legs Gary...more my chrome dome that's glowing!

Cheers all,
