Forgot to take the before photo but welded in a new step which I wasnt planning on doing but when I cleaned off what I thought was surface rust the step was quite badly pitted
I've now refitted the rear door before removing the and replacing the rear pillar.
Initially I was just going to use part of the pillar panel but there is rust creeping in above the lock are so I have the full panel so will be fitting it
Started on the D post replacement, firstly measuring where it sits then drilling out the spot welds.
The wheel tub is peppered with rust by the join so most of it will be replaced.
More welding repairs.
Firstly on the floor which I previously missed but uncovered when scrapping surface rust to coat with red oxide and then back under the rear wheel well.
Are you coming to the end of your weldathon? What will you do with your time then? Aah, yes, of course, re-assemble the car. Firstly having hidden all your patient labours beneath copious quantities of underbody protection. It's a good thing you took a photo and video diary.
No letting up!
