With the encouragement of my eldest (not that I needed much!) we filmed a hill climb and some nasty bends.

He did the filming I did the driving.

I hasten to add not competitive and public roads so no fancy driving

Mummy! Mummy! The bad man is making me regret going for a 2200SC rather than another V8! Mummy!

Throw a tantrum so that mummy lets you get a V8 as well!! Then you can be a "bad man" too :p :p :p

Just for you I'll try the same route in our 2000TC - however be warned - she doesnt like a standing start on a hill - so Im not sure if the camera battery will last long enough to film the ascent! :D

Thanks for posting all those videos.
Although it is a shame that the sound quality of youtube mask terribly the V8 music :(

I am too waiting the 2000TC version of the hill climb.
Why yours doesn't like standing starts? Mine with only 130 lb compression across all cylinders will happily take off in 1st gear spinning its rear wheels. Although i won't hold my breath for top gear acceleration ???

Unfortunately I'm just a poor boy who has to make do, but I can dream...

I tried to do a 0-60 time-check in Biscuit but I couldn't find a road in Lincolnshire long enough... ho hum...

I borrowed some timing gear a few years back and did a few timed 0-60 runs in my old 2.2TC Convertible. I managed a 10.5 second best time, which I think just about matches the factory figures, mind you I really really had to thrash it to manage that, rev counter went clean off the end of the scale in 2nd ! Points needed resetting afterwards :D

Its the standing start at the bottom of a steep hill the 2000TC doesnt like. On the film it doesnt look steep - but it is!

A similar slope at the end of a long straight near home. In V8 you lose about 20kmh between the botttom and the top in 5th gear. (hit bottom at 100kmh and get to top at 80)

In the 2000TC its about the same - but you have to rapidly go down the gears!

I shall make sure I have my assistant for the weeekend!

(ps - the 2000tc is used as the family "tractor"!! It has transported a good proportion of the building materials for our renovation of hopuse and building extension - OK she tows the trailer!)
