P6 time clock repair

Seen an old thread on repairing the clock on the P6 earlier. The repair mainly was about re soldering a connection which was ok on mine. Found the issue how ever, my clock was disconnected by previous owner and the reason was it was constantly trying to re-wind but the little ratchet catch was slipping over the tiny cogs on the drive wheel. They are somewhat worn but what I done was to “sharpen” the edge on the spring loaded ratchet catch with a needle file, not easy but lo and behold, it worked.

Also meant to add, I removed the 3 nuts that hold the back section of the clock which is the wind up mechanism to get at the little L shaped ratchet catch thingy.

I read that thread a while ago as mine had stopped working. After a good deal of looking at it under a magnifying glass, I worked out that it had not fully wound down so the contacts hadn't closed to wind it up. It seems it just managed to get itself jammed somehow.

Using a small screwdriver, I shorted out the contact and it wound itself up, and has never stopped again :)
