the cars had plenty done years ago,and was a daily driver -as so many will have been. and masses of spares kept means, it'd be a wasate not to get it up and going again...just need to get inside and get on with cleaning it up again first to see whats what
a new complete heater box replacement was the last job i had finished,i suspect there'll be welding again to look at to see how the ravages of time and weather have attacked it all. its even had an RTC1390R brand new old stock diff -when bl were selling off all the last stock....

Looks like the layout started life looking similar to mine under the bonnet. FYI Chris is one of the people most versed in the history of the various P6 models. Can possibly tell you more about where your car fits :)

What's that pipe betweent he 2 carb intakes? Is that to equalise pressure or something? Havent seen that before. I've seen LPG installs go in there, but i cant see the pipe going off anywhere else...

*Edit* looking again i can see that Ts off towards the front of the car so maybe is an LPG install.

Okay, so not the 64th V8, as that would be a P5B, but the 64th production-spec P6B.

The pre-production vehicles followed on from the prototypes, which were built from July 1967 onwards, with the model launching in mid-April 1968.

Yours was a Henly's car, that left despatch 7 March 1968, which makes it a pre-launch car, as it's six weeks prior to the launch date. It wasn't factory registered, so I have little information other than what's in the Gaydon records.

I'd certainly like to know more about it.. in P6 V8 terms, it's probably one of the oldest surviving cars. I believe that only the four surviving P6B prototypes are potentially older.

i thought i'd share my interest in what i happening here to a rover v8 engine:
i'm sure it'll be of interest to those who've not seen it before - enjoy

- yes i DO have a set......!

So, do one of those carbs feed cylinder 5 and cylinder 7? That can't be easy to set up if it does.
