P6 3500S- manual gearbox trouble

I have bought a rover P6 3500S who has a body like a new one, complete original and no welding done, is not needed, and dashboard as new Steer has no signs of wear, looks new. The seats in the car are fabric upholstery and not leather, but are also as new

But car has be not ride for a long time, I do not now how long but engine is oke and go round.

I do have the typical gearbox, and I have also spare parts with it, like a extra gearbox new clutch leder seats etc.

Oke I hope these balls are not present, I do now gear stick is quite loosely.

Just to complete the picture re bearing pre-loads.....tapered roller bearings last a long time if they are set up correctly. They do NOT like incorrect clearances once up to normal temp - too much clearance they stop rolling and slide, damaging the hardened outside, too little clearance and they overheat and die. The preload is specified such that the clearance is just right once up to normal temp. On the P3 model the front hubs have 52 position vernier hub nuts, and specify achieving end float of .003-.005" with a dial indicator.
