October 1975 TC .
I am just changing the side covers on the block & have taken off the exhaust manifold & its a bit of a bodge, massive amount of weld and perforated. I had another used spare and find the there is a difference where they join the exhaust pipe . The outlet on one has a sort of Y adaptor and the other pipes have been formed to blend straight into the flange .
The original is the Y adaptor type ( with all the weld) . Anyone know if both are original & if so when did they change? Thanks Derek

My series 1 came originally with the manifold on the right, so probably this is the early design.
This was very tired, so sometime in the past i have swapped it for the type on the left, however, i have no idea from what car it came from.

The manifold on the left is the original design. And the one on the right is the later version. It was cheaper to make.

Thanks all, that was my thoughts but I didn't want to prejudice the replies . I might have a go at repairing the LH one if the flange will stand it. As anyone got a flange going spare, presumably a front pipe will have the same size one.?

This means that the one that was on my TC wasn't original, but i am not surprised at all with this.

The TC manifolds crack & rot out at a great rate. I'd be surprised if any TC had it's original manifold unless it got parked just a few years after it was new.

Vern, if you could see the amount of bodge welding that manifold had, you could as well suppose that it was original.
