P5 Rostyle Wheel 205/65/15

Hi, All :D

It has been a while since my last post, but I have recently purchased p5 Rostyle Wheels for my p6 3500 as very difficult to get hold of the ideal p6 14inch Rostyle wheels. I would like to fit these with 205/65/15 tyres but reviewing earlier posts more than likely I will have to make some adjustment to the D-post and I have also read elsewhere the lip on rear wing arch can foul the tyre wall on cornering, causing severe damage to the wing! Does anyone have any pictures of the D-post surgery and how difficult this is? Allegedly I can fit 195/65/15 without any problems, but I am aware these are slightly under speed and the other option is to fit 195/70/15 commercial tyres!

It is my understanding that the P5 Rostyle wheels are 5" in width. If that is indeed the case, the maximum width tyre that you could possibly run will be 195. If the rims are 5.5", then you could go to 205.

Ron.

Hi Ron,
Many thanks for your advice me thinks I will go for the 195/65/15 route. Never was to happy about jacking D~posts.
I guest that the 5.5" Roystyle wheels are a closer match for the offset?
My are 5" so hopefully they will be ok? At 70mph the true speed would be 68.17 mph on the 195 tyres and on the 205s ~69.56 mph. Hence my 1st choice was 205s.
I will see if I can get some pictures on Forum at some time. [ Living in a digital age with an Analog Brain  ]

The other good reason to stop at 195 section is that the P5 Rostyle sits further out than the ideal. ie it doesn't have enough positive offset....

I think youwill find there are two types of P5 wheel, the 5" 3L wheel and the 5.5" P5b wheel which I think has more rim on the outside.
