Seems to be a lack of prewar cars on the forum so I'll kick it off with my 1947 Rover P2 16hp Sport Saloon

Built at the end of December 1947 and shipped out to Sydney Australia January 1948 where it spent 56 years, restored by Royce Cole between 1975 and 1983 and now looking splendid

No doubt many of you will have already seen it at shows around Scotland so here are a few images for you to gloss over

I like the little red dataplate screwed to the aluminium rocker cover.

Such a good idea that it was still there on the P6 2000 20+ years later.

Indeed, but i like it more because it is among those things that reveal the lineage between the various early and late (up to P6) models of the then Rover company. The design and fastening of the rocker cover itself is familiar to the Rover 2000 owners, the steering wheel is surprisingly similar to the one used in Series 2 Land Rovers and of course there might be other similarities, more or less obvious.

Very nice car indeed!

Lovely looking car and multiple award winner at many shows I've attended.

Yes Dave, she's won a few awards right enough

This is a few of the many awards she has won

If you look very carefully at the next two images you will notice that they are reflection shots taken on the paintwork of the Rover

John's 16sports Saloon is one of the top 5 P2's in UK.

Since first meeting John with his utterly incredible P2 in Largs at an SARR he's collected in less than a few years rightfully more awards than we've had dry days in the Hebrides.

A stunning car and a nice bloke too!

You won't ever see a better P2 and if you do then let me know!

Oh the lines of the 4-light model are just excellent! When I had to get a RWC (MOT here) in mine the tester gave me grief over a single brake light - had to show him the wiring diagram to convince him.
