overriders - with or without

I have a 75 2200TC with overriders but earlier this year I had the rear bumper rechromed, and to finish he job got 2 new old stock overriders. When I got the bumper home I fitted it but never got round to fitting the overriders and I have used the car like this all summer. Over the months I have grown used to the 'new' look and now cannot decide which I prefer, I quite like the clean looking lines of the rear end without them.

Regardless of whether a particular model should have overriders fitted or not, does any one have a preference either way based on looks alone.

I think it's all down to personal preference, personally I like the clean look, so no overriders, or badge bars, of spot lights....:)

I'm with the Web-meister on this one, I’ve always thought of over-riders as being bumpers for your bumpers, they clutter up the lines (probably appeal to Americans who like big, useless lumps of chrome - like Harley Davidson motorcycles...)

Ahh - but if you lived in a country where people park by going forwards and backwards till they feel the "bump" then practicality over looks would be preferred!

No chance of that over here, as soon as you touch another car it's a multi-thousand pound personal injury claim, and both cars are written off !!

I think the overriders suit series 2 cars best, as the series 2 has more "bits" on it anyway, whereas the series 1's are much cleaner.

That's a good opinion. The same reason I got the door mirrors taken off my 1964 2000. Any additions ruin the original line, whereas Series II's suit door mirrors etc. etc.

Overriders were fitted to a lot of 2000SC's at the dealers when new - quite a lot of cars about now with both the underriders around the number plate and the overriders.
