Opinions on new carpet colour

I've been thinking about a new carpet for my P6. Something nice and a little different but the more I think about colour options the more I'm driving myself round the bend. My car is a monza red V8 with black leather. The carpet is so bad it's hard to tell what the original colour was. Favourites were champagne with a darker edging or light grey with a darker edging. What do other people think opinions please or other options

It´s like politics. Week by week you think out, then you decide out, the next minutes you think shi.... o_O, what have I done.
You have a red car with black leather and for a classic English saloon car it´s a straight decision, BLACK carpets and NO 3rd colour. Nothing else. From the German point of view, the P6 had some funny combinations of colour, seat colour and carpet colour. Mine is white with black leather and has brown  carpets. Ok, it´s possible, but with black carpets it would be the straight way, the classic way.

Anything but red. Red is brilliant with a white exterior, but never elsewhere. Would favour black even if not original.

Beg your Pardon Sir -Almond with Red upholstery and carpet . Absolutely Stunning.
Insofar as Richard is asking for his red beauty - its got to be black carpet

Yes I had thought black as well initially as it is the classic look but just though it might make things a little too dark. I did like the champagne colour that coverdale do. This could be a new pole stuff the EU refrendum let's talk about important things

I put cheap ebay black carpets in my car, and it makes the whole interior very dark. If the foam inside your seats is starting to disintegrate, like mine, they sprinkle the carpet with little bits of foam 'dandruff' every time you sit down, and it really shows up a lot on black carpets! I would go for a dark grey. Try and get hold of some overmats too, perhaps? Don't buy cheap and nasty carpet, it keeps curling up at the front of the front doors. Spend a little more and get quality wool with properly bound edges.

I faced with the same dilemma with an early TC in Arden Green/ Sandalwood.
I decided that as the existing set were in fair condition - but faded to that nondescript beige that we all know (and hate?)- I would recolour them.
I sprayed them Forest Green and the outcome was really successful. Green was never an option for carpets in P6s but works well.
I'd have thought that with Monza Red, you might get quite a fine effect with a burgundy carpet. Not too dark overall, picking up the red theme but a mild contrast to the seats.

Black for me.
I do like some brighter colour interior combinations - but - have had a few cars with all black interiors.

Mark.

I always liked black, but they do make it very dark inside, so when I replaced Sparky's carpet I went with silver grey but with black edging to pick up the seat/trim colour.

I still like it :)

The grey is a lovely colour. I did this exact same colour combo on a previous P6 I owned some years ago and it did look good. Decision has been made now and I have gone with the Champagne from coverdale. Not sure if I just didnt like the name to be honest :) In the end I didnt want to go black as I have had too many cars before with all black interior, and on this I just thought it would be too dark form me. As much as I like the grey Ive already done it. The champagne looked nice in a previous post I had seen, it was different and close to original. I also like the cream interior I have seen on some cars and one day would like to swap it over if I could find someone that would do a straight swap or found a set for sale that I could afford.

That looks really nice .
What style Coverdale did you go with ? They have three options

I just went with the blenheim as it was the cheapest they do. I had been looking at cheaper suppliers but after reading up on here I went for these as everyone seems to speak highly of their products. I also bought a boot carpet set too. I've got it in the champagne colour but with a slightly lighter coloured binding

Coverdale sure have a great fit.
Our dollar is trading quite well against the pound at the mo. Good time for us antipodeans to buy.
Cost of freight is a killer.

will bear comments in mind. Cameron green with sandalwood cloth seating ..hmm carpet a sort of dark ( dirt?) brown ..ish colour . seen a p6 with. grey an that looked great though was I am told, a show car carpet from Wadhams.
Coverdale look a though excellent carpets but. at top prices too. .hmm .so choice of supplier and colour to choose from.
might have to opt for cheap stuff sigh as. already getting complaints from other half about the money pit!

Dirt brown = Mortlake brown
If you have a drivers front / rear footwell carpet complete for an AUTO car, with no holes in it I will buy it from you when you change.
