OLO246L - Our new edition

Hello,
Monday night saw the arrival of our 2000 SC Auto first registered in October 1972. OLO hasnt seen the light of day for 14 years. This is our first classic car, and we are very excited by it. On the face of it the condition is very good. We knew we needed an exhaust system as the old one had to be swept up from the floor. It will keep us away from the wives during the winter.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Would be lovely to see some pics of your new acquisition :)

Rich

Next time OLO will be driving in to a fuel station on it's own

Looks a nice example! Congratulations...

All the advice and help you need is on this site if you search or ask :)

We will add some more pics later and use a proper camera instead of a phone! Looking forward to getting advice and learning from you all.

Welcome to the forum :) do keep us updated with your findings, fixing, and fun you have with OLO :)

Hello & welcome OLOP6. Your car looks like a nice example and Almond is a super colour. Can you tell us anything more about the history please? What's she like inside & under the bonnet?

Well here are some new pics of OLO taken today after a T-cut and Autoglym. Next week end sees the start of some more mechanical work. We know so far that the front brakes are ok but the rear pads need changing. The water pump needs replacing and we need to find an air filter housing. A new exhaust system needs to be fashioned, and the very old stale fuel needs getting out of the tank and the system flushing. The seats are part taken out of the back so we can re stitch them after giving them a good clean.

The body work is 'ok' The nearside front wing is the worst. I would say that at some stage it has been attended to but i expect by Stevie Wonder! The bonnet has a few small blisters on it along with the boot. The nearside front door has a dent and a little rust. Both N/s and O/S rear wings need a little tidy restoration work. The floor looks in really good condition. We are very pleased with OLO and now can't wait to get on the open road while listening to the number one hit song at the time of its first registration on the old cassette - How can I be Sure by David Cassidy, or indeed the next number one from the 14th of OCt 72, Wait for it ......... Mouldy Old Dough by Lieutenant Pigeon. By God they don't make songs like that any more!

Wow that's come up a treat, certainly doesn't look embarassing to any passers by

Depending on your skills, those rear wingtops are fairly easy to repair (I even think you can buy repair sections for them), we'd have to see the front wing problems to pass judgement on them.

Looks like a really good project, well done, and good luck, we're all here for advice and support.

yes you can buy a repair section for the top area that yours needs, but then you could wait for a wing to pop up on ebay they often do.
looking good welcome
