is it possible to have a rover 2000 tc oil filter housing reconditioned, new ones are not available .auxilary section is not required as that only drives the pump.

Which part are you actually after? the oil filter on a TC is a spin on type which is replaced as a unit as part of the service schedule? it mounts directly on the back of the oil pump housing?

I believe Wins Int’l has new old stock oil pumps available. But, I’d be surprised if that’s a problem. They’re normally bomb proof.

ive just fitted new big ends and main bearings that really leaves the oil pump, oil pressure goes up an down when the car is ticking over, only registers about 20 on the gauge when upto temp

the oil pump is in two parts, front part is the auxilary drive, the rear half that has the oil filter attached is the actual pump.its the rear half im looking for.

The 4 cyl pumps rarely give problems. If the gauge readings are all over the place the chances are that it's a faulty gauge sender

As mentioned, the moving bits are available new and that should be all you need.

Another thing to check is that the relief valve is OK, which would tend to give low pressure if it were stuck or the spring had broken.

I think there was a change in relief valve mechanism, in about 1966. Perhaps have has the old type that were not reliable. What year is the car? image.jpg

Agree with the post regarding valve. Minis gave a lot of bother with either worn valve or broken or weak spring. We used to pop a washer behind the spring to see if that was the problem before renewing the spring. Pumps as mentioned are pretty hardy things.
