Oil Pressure gauge

G'Day All, I have a 1970 Rover 2000 TC with a dodgy oil pressure gauge which works intermittantly and when it does work the needle seems to stick somewhat.
I will take it to an instrument repairer for diagnosis and possible repair. I was wondering if an oil presure gauge out of a P6 3500 will do the job.
Sorry for stupid questions. Thanks to all in advance. Cheers Tom

Hi Tom,

I dare say it won't work. The sender needs to be matched to the gauge else it does not read properly, if at all. Even the sender from an SD1 with the same V8 engine will not work in a P6B, and it is all due to the gauge.

The V8 tops out at 60PSI so the chances of it working properly on the 4 pot which goes too 100PSI are nil.

Thank you all for your replies. Very much appreciated. I will replace the sender and let you know the outcome..
Regards Tom
