Now Worse After Removing Carbs

Hi all good news at last. I swapped carbs over and she runs. I don't know what I've done to my original ones when I rebuilt them. I think I will probably send them away to have them done by a specialist. So I should be at a few shows in the next few weeks. Thanks to all that offered advice to assist.

Great news, Carbs have had me foxed a few times. for a simple thing they can be a pain.

I have just got a set of carbs back from Gower and Lee, they have done a few rebuilds for me (different cars) since I discovered how bad my rebuild was. they do a decent job with a few options depending on the finish you want.

Make sure you have a good flow from the carb tower, if not then attack tower outlet with small screwdriver until you do....
 
Possibly check that the return fuel line to the tank is not blocked, if fuel is circulating then it should stay cool. Best not to mess around with undoing pipes etc with a hot engine though ;)
 
Carb tower is clear one of the first things I checked as I broke down the day I collected it from Eastbourne. I have not checked fuel return line though. Someone had removed the water pump fan in the past and it only had an electric fan fitted. I have now replaced the missing 5 blade fan an can feel the air being blown around. I have not had the chance to see if it has made any difference yet. Time will tell.
