No Headlights!

What have I done. I fitted fog lights and wired in as per instructions I found on here. But now I don't have any headlights. I have disconnected the wiring to the lamps but still nothing. The headlamp flash works. Side lights work but no dipped or main beam from switch. Also notice no panel lights either. Fuses seem ok. Any ideas anyone.
 
Thanks Harvey. Its strange that this only occurred after I fitted and wired fog lights in. I am wondering if the switch could be stuck in someway or faulty.
 
Yes I've tried pushing and pulling switch but no joy. Perhaps I need to get a substitute to rule it out. Does it cut out main beam too do you know.
 
Ok so I have removed the switch this morning. I found the following no power at the fuses when switched to head lamps. Power for side and panel lamps when switch is on. So conclusion either there is another hidden fuse I cant find or switch is dead on headlamp side.
 
Hi, Have you checked there is power at the dip/main switch stalk on the column because it goes there before going to the fuses? It's not unknown for them to fail.

Hi, The dip and main work off the supply from the light switch, the flash function works from a separate (battery) supply.

Headlamp flash is a separate supply independent to the lighting switch. As there is only one feed to the lighting switch and the sidelights work, that must be OK . You say there is no feed to fuses , is there power to the dip switch itself as the fuses are between that switch and the headlights. ? There is a connector in the loom both to and from the dip switch, are those made correctly?
 
I have not touched wiring between switch and stalk so that should be ok. I have found a brand new switch which I have ordered and will hopefully be with me tomorrow. If I get a chance later this evening perhaps I will put power to each terminal on switch to see if that works. The only connections I made were to join blue/yellows by fuse box connect fog lamps to blue/yellow at loom by headlamps and run separate earth from each lamp. Tried switching on fog lamps nothing. Turned fog lamps off at switch no headlamps.

According to my wiring diagram ,the wire from the main lighting switch for the fog lamps is Red with yellow trace , I am aware the wires to the fog in the loom are blue / yellow .
 
Thanks. Do you happen to know which ones go to which terminal on the switch. I see from new switch terminals are numbered. I cant make these out on wiring diagrams I have.
 
Ok so here is an update new switch arrived and fitted. Still no headlights. So decided to look a little deeper. At the back of where the switch panel fits was a blue wire not attached to anything. I connected this to switch and hey presto headlight back. Still have no panel lights though. I have power at fuse but not at the panel bulbs. No power at fog lamp wires. Still I can play with these another day.
