I am sure past members have removed an auto box and fitted a manual, but has anyone removed a manual and fitted an Automatic gearbox ?

The auto box is MUCH fatter from memory, pretty sure it simply wont fit. I have had both at times over the years, if I am correct even the carpets are narrower in the auto's.

Three ways to get a TC auto if as we suspect a BW35 won't fit in the manual tunnel, weld in an auto tunnel and floor, find a BW65 and modify that to fit, or start with an auto car and convert it to TC.

I've got a TC head for my 2000 Auto.. if I ever get far enough to do it. At the moment, both are just paperweights - one on the drive, one in the shed ;)

^^^ It's been done, and with success, on this forum (as I'm sure you know), so maybe time for you to bring all the parts together.

The weak point with the auto is the flexplate, but as that destroys itself on the SC you may as well go for the TC anyway.

I have broken two of those. I now carry a spare one with me along with a spigot bush! Since I have a spare one with me it no longer breaks. So now I have added extra spare parts to the car on the basis that the more spares you carry the more reliable your car will be! The only parts you might need will be the ones that you are not carrying!
