Hi all,

Good to finally get in and mingle with like-minded Rover owners - thanks to the very friendly and swift Websupport people.

I was given a 67 Rover TC2000 from a friend who had her sitting for 3 years and paying no attention whatsoever to her.
Yes, you might notice that I am personifying the new love in my life. She might not be a beauty just yet, but she has a whole lot of soul. When I first approached her, she was definitely in need of time love and care and I was in need of something to sink a lot of blood, sweat and tears into. Atleast that is the outlook I had after reading the numerous forum-topics here. Owning a rover must be an experience that reaches both ends of the spectrum. Certainly there will be days when I am overly exstatic, and then there will be days where I may feel like I want to roll her over a cliff. (I would never)

The first things I did to get her up and running was to fill her up with new fuel and fuel conditioners. Fill the tires with air and rigged up the gear lever bushing to get the gears to engage.

Amazingly, she started up after a couple of tries and even had a little bit of torque left in her to drive about a mile before overheating. Yes, I got way ahead of myself and drove her without taking care of all the fluids etc etc. She let me know that this was a bad idea!

There is still lots of work ahead but all of the info I have encountered already in the forums has been a tremendous help, and I plan to bug you all with plenty of technical questions.

Thanks
Chris
