Hello all, this item is still for sale, please feel free to make an offer. Sending from France, or I can send from Canada this Christmas if ordered before Dec 18th.

Hello sdibbers, neither rude nor idiot, you just actually created some activity on my post ;-). The Icelert is still brand new, but just another three years older ;_)

Sorry to say but it's not for me as I like the clean front end and wouldn't take Sparky out in those temperatures anyway, but it does look like a smart addition for anyone.

Can you wire it cleverly into a negative earth car, and would the light/switch bracket fit a RHD car, as I am assuming that it's for a LHD?

The negative earth shouldn’t be a problem I’ve had a round unit on one myself. The bracket is universal. On both of my NADAs it wasn’t used. My 68 had the light, test button and pot fitted directly to the metal fascia to the right of the steering column. My 69 (with a square icealert) has them fitted to the Formica wood panel to the left of the instrument cluster.

Actually, it was for the Federal P6 models. The 4-pots were never called NADA.

When the TC & Automatic were introduced, Rover frequently made mention of North America Dollar Area in the literature.

The word Federal was never used until the introduction of the dual circuit brakes & HS8 carbs in late 1967, to meet the US rules, at which point the 4 cyl car numbering changed to 858 & 859.

In the parts catalog printed at that time, North America Dollar Area rarely appears, but you will see “America. Dollar area …"

Pictures are of 1966-68 parts & workshop manuals.

Yours
Vern
