Hi
just got a 1972 P6 3500. Needs some work - alternator charges most of the time at 0 amps or 50-60 amps, I'm not keen to drive far in case it fries the (new) battery - wipers crawl very slowly across the screen - clock not working - some trim needs sorting out, etc. etc.
In the past I've had a couple of P4s (90 and 100)

Welcome, pictures are needed :D.

You need to check the charging voltage, not the current, anything between 14.4 to 15.0 Volts is OK.

Wipers are detailed in many threads on this site so do some searching likewise for the clock, all relatively easy fixes you can do your self.

Just about everything is available for the P6.

If you are in CHCH or NN plenty of support and people about to help, very strong clubs, not sure about up North.

Cheers Graeme in CHCH

I am in the Hokianga (Far North). I think the nearest club is Auckland and that's 4 hours drive away. Thanks for your suggestions, I will look into the electrics.20181020_154806.jpg 20181020_154417.jpg

Nice looking car, dont see to many white ones about!

NZ cars are not known for rust, no salt on our roads.

I know where some of the rust is, but as the camera never lies I'll keep quiet! Luckily it came with spare front wings and bumper.
A white car does not really suit me (grubby, oily, etc.) especially as the upholstery is white too (seems it was red originally)

Not true heritage, but I lived in Harrowbarrow, Cornwall for 16 years. That's when I had the P4 Rovers. When I competed in motorcycle hillclimbs I gained the nickname Harrowbarrow. My name is Keith Lyndsell, if you knew me back then.

No, just recognised the name - I have a niece in Lower Dimson.
