Managed a few minutes at the X Hands at 7.30, too early to find anybody.

First decent run out yesterday, to Portsmouth and back. Absolute joy, everything I remembered about the P6 came back and it was one of the most comfortable trips ever, and the A36 was reasonably free of trucks for once! No problems apart from a minor oil leak from oil filter area, to be investigated next week.

Hi Tony,
Good to see you here as well! Just answered the P6 air conditioning question you asked me a month or so ago - on the JOC forum :p

OMG Tony, just found your postings, what you doing on here !!!
You were in Portsmouth, you should have popped in to see Graham and I:D:D We are still beavering away at those blessed Jensen motor cars you were selling all those years ago Lol
If you're out and about down South again, pop in for a cuppa, kettle's always on and it would be great to see you again. Shaun W will tell you where we are, he's another welcome frequent visitor. Look after yourself, hope to see you soon.

Well buxxer me! Visit to Pompey was just a dash down to pick up some P6 bits, next time we will pop in to see you, maybe we can talk about repainting mine. All the nasty bits have been done underneath and we have a new MOT even though exempt, but some body work is yet to be done, including reverting to a proper Rover colour.
So you have an 'S'. Nice, but an auto in Bath and old bones suits me better! Good to see the prices gradually creeping up, I think these are the most undervalued classics. I intend talking to Jon Pressnell, who did the article on HEA 4K, to see if he would like to do a similar one o the P6.
Happy New Year to you both,

Happy New Year to you both,

And a very Happy New Year to you too Tony. I had a 1973 3500 auto when I was 18, I also had a 2000TC when I was 16. The P6 was mine and my Dads favorite cars, and we both aspired to own an S but neither of us could afford one. When I lost him, I decided I would get one, I just wish I had done it sooner because he would have been made up. Never mind, I have one now and I'm chuffed with it. Graham and I are going to treat the old girl to a resto and I have plenty of tin worm to keep us both happy lol. Yes I agree with you, the values of the P6 are way too low for what was once a luxury motor car that I would happily put on the same pedestal as the Interceptors and I am not really bothered what I spend on mine, I just want a beauty. And with Graham on the body, you and I know that it certainly will be a cracker !!!
Yes please pop in when you are next down mate, will be great to see you, and we would certainly be happy to have a look at your 3 5,

all the best
