Hi, My name is Bill. Long time fan first time owner.

As a mechanic I have fiddled about with a few Rovers, Mostly SD1s and owned a couple Range Rovers. I have finally bought a P6.. It's a 1968 2000 TC and I hope to collect it this week. Looking forward to the experience, and learning more about these remarkable vehicles. It will be a daily driver with a few other vehicles taking the less... lovely days so it can rest out of the rain and snow. That's about it.. The car is (I understand) a special edition, white with blue C Pillars and squares about the badge area.

Welcome to the forums Bill:- you will find all the help you may need here, and posting some pictures when you have the car is almost compulsory :) :)

Hi Bill . Welcome , good luck with the car , hope it's a good un . As Phil said , pictures :!: :D

Hi Bill, Welcome :D
Sounds an interesting p6, as said pics when you can and hope it's all you expect it to be and more.

Hello & welcome Bill. Be sure to keep us posted when you get the car - sounds interesting.

Hi Bill, welcome aboard. Can't wait to see pics, I love that colour scheme. It's not a special edition as such but it was a colour combo that was unique to North American market 2000TCs for the first couple of years from the TC introduction in '66 until (I think) 1968 when they lost the TC badges on the front wings.
What sort of shape is the car in? We had a guy pop up briefly on the forum a while ago with a very nice early example in this colour combo. I wonder if it's the same car?

Was under thre impression that that colour scheme was for the Swedish market.

Graeme

Don't think so Graeme, where did you hear that? Although a few US market cars did wind up in Europe with American servicemen and excess stocks after Rover's retreat from USA.

Heard that from the owner of such a colour schemed car here in Canterbury one of the many p6's in his collection, but like as not I may have misremebered the full detail.

Hi Bill

I'm sure you'll find lot's of freinds and expertise here!

That trim spec is standard very early Federal TC. It's about as close as the factory gets to producing a 2000S - go and look up the references!!

Needless to say it is rare and exremely desirable - especially here in the UK who never had the opportunity in the first place!!

So take care of it and let us have some pictures!!

Chris

Sorry... phone pics.. I hope for better ones soon.

I posted before, but it dissapeared. i think it's a conspiracy..

The car is running great, I'm using it as a daily driver. Most everything works. It needs less hideous rear view3 mirros (hope to resolve this week)
The seats are worn out, but the rest of the interior is very good.
The body has typical rust, which i hope to have sorted by Spring. i will be putting new rubber on the Rostyles then, and keeping the steel wheels and caps for the winter tires.
It's a joy to drive and likes the hiway. Nice commuter considering it's almost as old as me :)

It's lived on Vancouver Island for a long time. i have reciepts dating back into the early 90's. It will continue to live on the island and be well cared for.

Cheers!

Car looks well, keep us posted with any updates.
I spent about a week in Vancouver about 10 years ago and took a trip out to Vancouver Island.
It was a very enjoyable trip.

Welcome to the forum Bill,... :) like the pics of your Rover, don't think I have seen one before with the blue quarter panels. Look forward to seeing more pics in due course.

Ron.
