New acquisition

A new project car arrived today, needs a full restoration but bought for a song from local guy I know.
It’s from Solihull but not something I’d considered until now

Ah mate -these are gorgeous when put back together. Owned one once, had a stupid side of the road offer. Gone

Interior is all complete and after a proper clean I think will be really rather good. Lots to weld underneath but that’s the sort of project I was looking for. They do seem to be going for fairly strong money restored.
Noticed a few shared items with P6 already too

I collected newly purchased Bruiser with my brothers Mk2(?) & a trailer. Great towcar & l could see why people liked them though the V8 seemed to bluster rather than go when l accelerated.
The Velar pre-production was for sale recently, reduced by 40k to £70k. I found that extremely attractive.

Don't get sidetracked, Jim! Get that P6 done!
Aha this is purely for work, will be restored to factory spec and be up for sale as soon as we can get it done.
My colleague owes me a bunch of hours so we will hit it hard starting next week!

I admired them since i was a kid, however the tax system over here that is based on engine displacement made them prohibited fruits. About 10 years ago you could buy some very nice examples of early 90's models quite cheaply.
Here's an excellent stop frame video for inspiration:

Yes they are very low compression aren’t they. If I were to keep it the engine would be swapped out for a larger built version for sure.
Interesting that you mention Velar as I believe the guy I bought from has some kind of Velar up for sale next. I don’t know enough about them yet I’m afraid.
I did notice that this should be Russet Brown, and googling found the one off convertible Bond car in the same colour. Was half tempted to do a replica but easier just to keep things standard on this one I think!

ευχαριστώ για το βίντεο Δημήτρης
Last time I was in Salamina I found a 70s Camaro which had sadly been taken off the road by the old boy after luxury tax rules had changed years ago.

My very rough initial plan is to fully brace the shell and separate from chassis, put on a rotator and do both parts properly but at a good pace

Never been a fan to be honest, but we did have one at the dairy when I was younger. It was great for pulling loaded milk floats out of ditches, snow drifts, and just broken down ones back to the dairy. Superb workhorse.
