Hi All.

Dont know where to post this since the closedown has removed chit chat,so here will have to do.
For those of you who know,I was taking my ex employer to Tribunal for not making me redundant in Nov '06'
The case has just been heard and Ive won my claim :D  Been awarded what I was due for 10 yrs service!!
A VERY BIG blow to the company as another 120 employees at another depot will now benefit. EXCELLENT!!!!
The Chairman said that due to my circumstances, the company were wrong not to offer me Redundancy or accept my request for Volountary Redundancy.
Now I can sue them for personal injury "6 months of stress" and my financial loss due to their incompitence.
Thanks to all those who sent me messages of support :;): :;):
Cheers Dave

Congratulations Dave!

Delighted to hear things are coming together for you! That compensation might almost bring on another classsic, mightn't it - or pay the bills for the last big job!!!1

Hi Dave, Thats made my day. I lost my job in aug 06 or should i say i was forced out after 18 years service, New firm took over a family run business and then set about getting rid of us longer serving workers to replace us with 17 year olds.
They turned my life upside down and then to make matters worse the job centre refused me jobseekers allowance as i had left and not been sacked ? I had worked since i left school and have always paid my tax and then when you need some help your shafted. I now find my self out of work and my confidence dented.
I should have taken your route and tried for redundency as my job was outsourced to a different location. But lack of advice means its probably to late.
On a happier note my p6 never had it so good as i managed to spray most of her over this summer. Thank god for ebay as selling all my unwanted stuff paid for the paint.
So good for you and enjoy the redundency.
Simon.

Well done!!

So will it fund the possible new life in New Zealand? If not - you can always join those of us the other side of the channel!

Its good to see someone winning a case like this. And having the courage to go through with it. Many others are made of less stern stuff (me included - employer changed ownership and very keen to get rid of experienced bods I couldn't hack the pressure they put me under and left)- however Ive ended up in a land where there is a rolling tax date on classics so all is good!)

Yes , well done.
Too many employers think they can write their own rules when dealing with staff.
Don't spend it all at once !
