My new project. P4? Also seeking help identifying her.

I am guessing being an OZ car it would be similar to an NZ car in that the car is unlikely to have been modified with parts from other years P4's as unlike the UK, NZ and OZ didn't have the same depth of doner cars to mix and match parts with.

If it was a complete and original car, i wouldn't really like to see it modified.
But at that state, the only way that someone would manage to bring it back to life as an original car, would be by sacrificing another complete car.
So it is much more better being creative with it, given the "as found" state of this car.

I agree with you. If the car was complete I wouldn't modify it as described. I wouldn't have been able to get it in the first place had it been intact. :)

I'm looking forward to getting some free time soon so I can get into it. I'll be sure to keep everybody up to date.

I'll be heading down to the aforementioned Auction so have alook at the websites and PM me if there is something you want.

Mikecoombs, thanks heaps for the offer. Unfortunately I'm strapped for cash at the moment (I'm renovating my Mum's kitchen).

Aside from that, it would probably be easier to list the things I don't need :D

So I've picked up this old girl, will be a long term project for sure as I have no garage or shed as yet.

All I know for sure is that it's a Rover.

Here's some pics.

Missing guard and bonnet/grille due to an accident that happened maybe 50 years ago.... ;)

She's got alloy doors and trafficators. Also the turned down boot, and horizontal tail-lights. Surely that's enough info to figure out which year it is? None of the pictures I've seen online seem to match what I've got.

If anybody with some knowledge can help me get a better identification on it I'd be quite grateful.

Regards, Daz

The car number should be on a plate at the front of the Left Hand Door opening and stamped on the chassis LH side above the road spring.

I have been trawling through some of these members( old projects) that were on the forum. a couple of years ago i was looking for a P4 steering box for a friend and came across this P4 on a farm just north of bundaberg. the chap would not sell the box separate as he wanted to sell the complete vehicle. a lot of the vehicle was dismantled, and the doors bonnet and other parts were in an old caravan out of the weather. i do not know if this lot is still available, if you are interested i can put you in touch with this chap.
