That could be play in the steering siderod or trackrod ball joints. Add to that worn top and bottom, and bottom link strut ball joints and there is plenty of scope for play. And don't forget the idler....
Theoretically all the ball joints should be OK as they have been replaced, i am hoping to get in the garage today to have a closer look.

Hi guys thanks for your input, i have tightened the rack adjuster which has given a far stiffer feel to the steering, i think i had this too loose which made the steering feel far to light when driving. Fingers crossed all is no OK.
