MOT fail/pass. GGRRrr.

MOT booked for this morning, all the checks done on Sunday, everything OK except slight weep on pipe to petrol pump, nut nipped, good to go. This morning I pulled the car out of the garage and did checks again, no washers. I had obviously caught the wire tightening fuel pipe. The terminal was hanging on by a thread so I quickly crimped a new one on as the heavens opened. I set off, at the first junction no indicators, my joy was unbounded. Anyway I persevered and went for the test, it passed everything but indicators. Back home I popped into the car/push bike parts shop in the village and ordered a relay (I couldn't find my spare one) 2hrs later I picked up a relay, so back to the testing station and hurrah, a pass. Wet, but elated. Bloody cars, I hate them I do

I've had MOTs like that before. I scupered myself once by trying to fix the clock (after my preMOT checks) and unbeknownst to me I shorted it out an blew the fuse, not a problem you might think but it's on the same circuit as the interior light, cigar lighter and the horn!

Well done anyway. Might I suggest waiting a few weeks next year having a spring MOT so you can fix it, I mean pre MOT check it, in the sunshine 8)

That's the thing, it has a March expiry to give me time to sort any colossal failures before Spring. Yesterday was a great day for pre MOT tests, a bit cold but sunny, this afternoon was a great time for pre MOT checks, a bit cold but sunny, this morning, immediately prior to the test, was NOT a great time for pre MOT checks as the rain was so hard it was deafening under a Weathershield roof.

Well done John you got there in the end . I do the same and put it in a week or two early in case of some overlooked issue , but technically if it fails it's not suppose to be driven until it's passed . Think it's a new thing . :D

No that's the drooling and talking in your sleep, well that and forgetting you said something
