Modern classic speedos and gauges

I thought I'd list some of my favourite modern electronic speedos, featuring classic designs.
The prices are high in most cases but the products are of high quality and for customs work very well.
I've started researching them as a possible answer to the speedo issue with the zf gearbox.
I have no idea at this stage if i'll go this route, but have found some very nice examples.
If I were to change the speedo then I'd have to change the whole set of gauges, upping the overall cost again..
However I am planning a change of design with my dash including hooded instruments similar to many 60s muscle cars

Here a selection of gauges then:

Dakota Digital

Autometer Prestige series

Autometer American Muscle series

New Vintage USA 69 series- closest I've found to stock Rover items including the green illumination

Classic Instruments, red steelie and black speedster. Two of my favourites :D

There are many more available. Most if not all of these can be calibrated yourself, some use GPS to auto calibrate.

Forgot to add there are a range of classic electronic Smiths instruments, but they're pricier still from what I've found and not as pleasing to the eye

Jim,
I have yet to do something about the speedo ( with the ZF box)
but I like your thinking.

Trouble is to match the Oil pressure, water temp.and fuel gauge senders to the new instruments.
Still might be easier than the speedo problem.

I like the rover 75 clocks.....

Jim.

Geordie Jim; search "Dakota Digital" as there seems to be a solution to speedo calibration issues

I do wonder about a different approach to the speedo. I think on a series one at least the lines on the dash almost have a clean bauhaus look to them, ruined by the instrument pod. Would be cool to find a way to mount an lcd somewhere which could drive a stereo and provide all the info and feedback to the driver, maybe driven by a raspberry pi or mini itx pc... Not really 60s/70s technology but would be an interesting project :) Maybe mount the screen in the front speaker pod ( although not much use for a speedo?)

The first gauges picture on this page are Dakota Digital, their products looks very good but are on the higher price side.
When retaining the stock mechanical speedo their product seems to have a good rep..Warren is the only person on here to actually have one I think?

Veethree do some nice GPS gauges with all you need in one kit for reasonable money.
I've also found GPS ones from Speedhut. Other than highly accurate speed metering, these include direction of travel, mileage, 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time and clock!
Most affordable for a complete set of programmable gauges so far is Omega Kustom at around £200 delivered inc import taxes

To be honest I prefer the electronic gauges without the lcd screens, no matter how small..But the right design could win me over I reckon

I did indeed purchase a Dakota Digital ECD-100 to solve the ZF speedo problem. Very easy to install and calibrate, and allows you to retain the original speedo untouched. The biggest problem was finding room to mount the black box - there's not a lot of room around and behind the P6 dash. I also had to have the correct collar fitted to the Dakota-supplied speedo cable so that is could be attached to the speedo right-angle drive. It's also cheaper to buy it directly from Dakota, rather than eBay resellers.

Wait until you're driving at night in a 75, Jim. The ambience is fabulous.
