MALLORY DUAL POINT DISTRIBUTOR - How best to set them up?

OK then techy time! Your Editor needs a hand!

The V8 is fitted with a Mallory Dual Point Distributor.
I have very little documentation with it.

I know it is internally adjustable for advance and have the instuctions for that. Take a few bits out and poke around and bend things by the look of it :D

At present it is set at 24 degress at 3200rpm according to the literature.

What I need to know is:

1. Where can I get replacement caps, points & rotor at a decent price - Real Steel is dear!

2. Stupid one this - although it is running OK what is the correct point gap, I have it set at 0.22 inch on each set of points at the moment.

3. It will eventually be set up on dwell so what dwell figure should I use?

Someone out there must know some thing about these distributors or a good web site with figures for a mildly tuned (cam, rhodes lifters, balanced) ROVER V8.

Thanks
Pete

I used to use a Mallory Distributer but sold it on - a good website for details and a person to contact is Chris at www.rpiv8.com as long as you are prepared to be lectured at!

I had problems with the points arching and suffered mis-fires a lot - my set up was the probable cause - never got round to adjusting the advance etc.
