Good for you that you put it in a safe place. When i stored the respective item from the original engine that i dismantled, it somehow got wet, and now it is a rusty length of bent cast iron. I am not sure if it can still be saved with a good reground, but i have kept it nevertheless.
 
Yes, we have a few little characterful cabinets. My wife could have sold them quite a few times in her little vintage shop but when asked for these sort of things has to explain she has a drawer-a-holic husband.

Hi, Try electrolysis first to see what you've got.

Putting an electrolysis tank together is one of my upcoming projects, as I have a flywheel in need of attention. (Amongst other things).
