logging in

hi, logging in from Australia takes me about 30 mins sometimes, the login time is 15 mins, is it possible for Australian members
to be allocated extra log in time.
The national NBN is pitifully slow, supposed to be super fast, but it has become a big con over here. Charging extra $40 + for connections and not living up
to expectations.
I have many times logged in , waited up to 30 mins, given up and re-logged in , same thing , then closed computer, and trying another day.
with luck a log in is achieved within the allocated 15 mins.

When you go to login make sure this box is ticked. That should sort you. As for internet speed, that's down to your provider unfortunately. Maybe try Firefox instead of your current browser too. That's what I use and its very stable. 1559234540845.png

there's no reason that would be the case at this end? The site returns super fast - it's actually on a pretty decent server. You may find changing the default dns resolution helps - but you'd need to ask your isp about that. DNS resolution is the bit that changes web addresses into ip addresses and allows the browser to actually connect.

Also you may find the log in with facebook option is quicker?

mischievous me has a mental picture of a couple of tin cans and string stretched across the outback ;)

That box is always ticked , but has never worked ever....always have to do the 2 step log in.
today first log in took 33 mins, 2nd took 2 mins but did not work , third took 2 mins did not work, 4th took 3 mins and here I am for all to see.

Ban306: I think that I will try using soup tins, they are longer and the amplification could be an improvement, especially if paper clips at each end of the string. :)

Do you cookies disabled? Many sites use them for the auto logon.......

What browser are you using?
I use Firefox and there is an option when you close it to delete your history, and in the settings, you can select to delete cookies or not. If you have tivked the box, then it will always delete the cookies, regardless of whether you have not blocked them and that will require you to log in again next time.

Hi Butterfingers.
I’m in country Victoria and never have an issue. I’m with Telstra. (For the non Aussies out there, Telstra make BT look very efficient!).
I’m assuming that you log in using a standard PC. Have you tried logging in on a mobile device to compare?
Regards,
Paul.
