just had the dash apart and the strip speedo out. tried power steering out (from a corsa d) for field trials . put all back together as original then found the block of foam on the carpet, could any of you tell me just where this goes. preferably a drawing or a description that a village idiot can understand. or if you know of a diagram from a workshop manual. Thanks in advance .

thanks very much for replying, but i notice your use of the word firewall , so i deduce that you are from the USA, so now i have to figure out if all left and right hand drive bodies are the same thus possibly making it on the drivers side in uk cars . i am fitting a fog light today and will keep a look out for possible positions for the foam pad. if i cant find anywhere to put it i will leave it in the glovebox along with several bolts screws and washers that have not found the original placement.if this carries on i may need a bigger glovebox .

no , i havent got a pic but sizewise its about 5/8 thick and 2 inches square, online i have seen one advertised as a dash to wing seal .maybe i will have to wait till it rains heavily to find the correct apperture. cheers

That bit fits at the rear of the front wing, up top near the bonnet fixing, did you have the wing off?

I stand to be corrected, but I think the little cube of foam you describe is supposed to get squished across the top of the splash panel that sticks out sideways from the base unit and stops spray from getting to the door hinges, under the front wing? Pics would help us identify it.

Sorry -My mind was in a totaly different space. I know what your talking about. Sits top under the front wings. Probably a piece of polystyrene painted black would do the job.
