Left Hand Drive Brake pipes

I would like to know the lengths of the brake pipes fitted to a left hand drive Rover 2200 TC Austrian Spec with dual circuit brakes please?

As soon as possible please as i have to get things sorted by the weekend.

Cheers

Cant help with the length but it is the norm to remove the original and have one made up, most garages and many factors can do this for you just make sure that it is imperial connectors.

If you can't remove the pipe consider using a piece of string, fix it to one end and follow the pipe to the end. snip the string and hey presto you have the exact length you need.

Is it a certain pipe you need. Rover classics will prob be able to supply then.

Coli / Arthuy is refering to metal brake pipes I think, in which caase make up to suit is definitely the answer. If you don't want to buy a kit to do this (very widely available) then as Colin says, Ian at Rover-Classics has the kit to make one up for you.

If you meant the flexible hoses then i'm pretty sure these are standard across right hand drive, left hand drive and single / dual circuit models. Again, Ian is a good contact and will have in stock. The dual circuit function is obtained by working different calipers off different circuits rather than the modern approach.

Those replies are very good. Thank you but I think the vehicle is in Austria at the moment and the owner would like to collect a brake pipe kit whilst on holiday in England! (He goes back in around 10 days and has asked me to help, I do have the equipment to flare the ends but do not have the lengths required.

Some pipes will be the same left or right hand drive (taking into account dual circuit systems) so if you find out which pipes are needed then someone can measure it for you.

I just looked at rover classics website and there is an set for £60, that gives your the hassle free option.

I made a whole set up for my car a few years back, the tubing was £10 and the ends were about £5 all in but I had the benefit of being able to use the old pipes as templates.

Good luck
Colin
