Folks

Those of you who are eagle eyed enough may have noticed a subtle change to my signature hinting about my new purchase.......

When I was having a chat with Phil R at Beamish recently he mentioned that it I was a bit out of the ordinary only having 1 P6 and that it wouldn't be long before I had more. Some folks on here might have been vaguely aware that I've been on the lookout for another one for some time now. Well this weekend I pick up my 2nd P6. It's not really what I would call a project but I thought this was the best place to start a thread on my new purchase. I pick the car up on Monday so when I get her back I'll post a few pics to whet your appetites before revealing all...............

Re: Picking up my 2nd P6 this weekend!

Good move for you Dave. You won't be under so much pressure to get any bits done on yours now if you have a back up. Eagerly waiting some pics.

Re: Picking up my 2nd P6 this weekend!

Dave did you mean to get another p6?

The first few years I had my p6 I was getting offered P6 almost everytime I went out for a drive. one show i got offered 3 FOC.

Hope it is an estate, I would give some consideration to an estate.

Colin yes I did mean to get another P6. I've been looking for a 1966 example for a while now and I spotted this one amongst the ads on Car & Classic.

She's a 1965 built, 1966 registered car in superb original condition with all the right bits where they should be.

From what I can make out the 30K ish mileage is genuine and I have a box full of paperwork to back it. She covered the 160 odd miles home from Wigan very well with just the ocassional hiccup so she needs a good service. I'll be doing all fluids, plugs, points, filters etc at the earliest opportunity and I'm hoping to be able to bring her down to some events nearer to you guys over the coming months so you can all have a closer look.

Only thing missing is a dashboard mat so if anyone has a spare I'd appreciate them dropping me a line.

I must say a great big thanks to Mark Gray for going to have a look at it for me and for giving such a thorough report.

Looks a fabulous example. Congrats hope she treats you well!

Re: Picking up my 2nd P6 this weekend!

very nice Dave. I have a rear view mirror stem which I got plated and never you if you want it.

I thought you may have went for a NADA model there too.

Was there not a red 2000 LCH^^^^ owned by Jan and Brian? Mills

Oooh that's a lovely thing Dave, and it looks like it doesn't need the attention of your power buffer either.

Re: Picking up my 2nd P6 this weekend!

Very tasty indeed.

I do like the very early cars, and that one looks absolutely superb.

Bet you're chuffed with that.

Very nice, a series 1 in lunar grey - that actually suits the car, I'm very tempted now, I love that colour. I'm only slightly jealous...

So you didn't want a 2200TC then? :D

Cheers, Adam.

:?: :?: :?: It's white Adam!

Dave, that's absolutely beautiful! If it was built in '65, shouldn't it have a shark's tooth valance?

She's certainly a 1966 built car Dave....I think we worked it out to be July. when we checked it out she's originally one of the last with Dunlop brakes when new. The black bezel on the clock is always a good indicator of a 1966 car.

She's beautiful. Well done mate. I serious suspect the hand of Clive Annable has been across this car. It looks like one of his paint jobs :D

Cheers
Nick
