Klanking noise from BW35, which had little fluid in it...

Many moons ago I bought a manual gear lever assembly out of a 3500S,If the spherical bush is the same on the automatic 3500 and the 4 speed manual 'S', then I must have a spare roll pin in that 2nd hand manual gear lever assembly, right!?

The pin is the same part number for the 3500S, and both the early, and late, auto gearlever assemblies, so your plan is on the money, providing you can find the 3500S gearlever of course.....

Finding it shouldn't be too difficult... It's about knowing where to look! The piece I need is always in the absolutely last box of bits'n'bobs, right at the back, behind everything else! That seems to be some kind of rule of thumb down at the lock-up.

Fitted a new spherical bush to the gear lever today. Old one was well and truly knackered! I had managed to shear in two the little metal roll pin that prevents the gear lever from twisting. Fortunately I did find a spare, from a manual gear lever out of a 3500S. Not a whole inch long, only about half an inch, but hopefully it'll do the job. Nice to have smooth and easy gear selection once again! I literally had to hold the gear lever up inside the car to make it as far as the workshop today.
