I'm trying to find where a 2.5" bezel diameter clock I've got has come from. It's the same mounting and came in a black plastic tube like fitted to the P6 and I'm given to understand P5 and P4s.
I does look like what I think are the earlier P6 clocks (with bullet connectors on flying leads), but it's a much earlier model, all metal inside, and had red hands. Also the original bezel looks to be like the Kienzle MotorMeter clocks I'm told were in the P4, but it just said Kienzle on the front (in bigger letters than the P6 clocks). I can't swear that the hands hadn't been painted or swapped from another because there was no glass when I got it.
You might wonder why I'd bother fixing such a clunker - it was as bad inside and some had stuck something up the backlight hole to bend the balance wheel. But for straightening that and a good clean and lube, it ran (the solenoid was week and I replaced it, but I've fixed that too and may put it back to original). Not only ran, but kept pretty good time. So, given that and the suffering it's obviously gone through, I thought I'd have a go.
I'm likely to have another go at painting the hands and I'm looking for a more original bezel, but it does runs well - nearly 3 mins between the electric winder going clunk.
