Just new to the Forum, well, new to the club & P6 ownership too. After a long search, too long some would say, I am now the very proud owner of KUU122P an Almond 2200TC. Whilst she is low mileage, I have done more miles in my 2 months of ownership(700), than she did in either of the preceding 2 years, (well I called it a shakedown & getting to know Molly as I have christened her). If anyone sees us out & about, "gizz a wave".
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those club members who have helped/advised me over the time of my search, & its game on for the North of England Show next year, am gonna play with the big boys now, after 2 years of winning best post SD1 with the black ZS last year & the Silver ZS this year, lets see what I can do with Molly.

Welcome.

We have 2 P6's (on the road) we will never win a prize (except maybe dirtiest engine bay? -or rustiest panels?) However the good thing is that they are great cars to own and drive whether it be for near daily use or weekends etc.

Our estate now does less miles per year than before (down to about 2500 a year) that is mainly because our saloon (LHD) has taken over the tractor duties! towing trailers with building supllies for our house and garage renovations (will they ever finish!!??) (will they ever be able to live under cover at night?)

The best thing is to keep these great cars in the public view - whether it be a perfect example good enough to adorn the front page of a classic magazine or as a daily workhorse so that the newest generation get to see a real car on the road instead of these modern computerised motorised boxes

Splendid choice Trev, and welcome to Molly! Restoratiuon expenditure has left me rather committed to a couple of V8's, but I rather hanker after a 22TC. Convincingly the best of the 4 cyl cars and better than the V8's in a number of respects. Much easier to work on, better on fuel, almost no compromise on performance and significantly superior handling (the 4 cyl cars have longer bottom wisbones on the front, so there is less camber change in roll).

Enjoy!

Chris

Thanks for the welcome guys, I bought Molly after a long search, lol, infact the week before, I walked away from a '73 3500S that had "just been restored", I think the restorers guide dog must have been in respite care, as the panels were all over the place, the paint, well I could have done better, (& I can't spray for toffee!!) & the intrior smelt of, well it SMELT. I appreciate seeing older cars in use, whatever their condition, & never knock someones pride & joy. As for the youngsters (oh oh, starting to show my age!!), have had a lot of positive responses from the local boyracers, they think a P6 is a cool car (plenty of references to Big Chris in Lock Stock).
