Hi,

My tacho does not work. I have a rvc tachometer and an electronic ignition in the distributor. it is a Lucas Opus system 35DE8.

Does anyone know how to install the tachometer?

I found this wiring diagram but I have no ballast resistor installed. I have bypassed the resistorwire.

any help is welcome!!

Would it be enough to connect the negative side of the coil with the tachometer? Or do I ruin my tacho because there is no 10K Ohm resistor between the oil and the tachometer?

Yes. You need only power and a signal from the -ve side of the coil. RVC effectively counts the impulses. RVI measures the current into the ignition system which is proportional to the engine speed (i.e. the number of sparks) - assuming that is everything is exactly as original.
