indicator pilot light in dash.

I need some expert advice on how to hook up the above light in the dash in front of the driver. i am thinking it will be connected straight on to the flasher can but what sequence.
the idea of having the light is that i cannot hear the clicking to know if it is working or not. the P3 has not got this function. thanking all in anticipation. every body keep safe and well. regards Derrick.Smith (deckell)

There are a couple of alternatives depending on which flasher unit you are using . If its a unit with just two connections ( ie without a warning light one), the easy way to operate a light is to use one that has two connectors to the bulb and just connect one to the Left hand flasher lights and the other to the right hand. The bulb needs to be about 12V 2.2 watt .When you operate the LH flasher the current can pass through the warning light , illuminating it , and to earth via the RH bulbs , but its not enough for them to light up. And of course the opposite happens when you turn right.
If your flasher unit has a separate connection for a warning light you just wire that to one terminal on warning light and the other terminal on the light to earth.

Thank you roverp480 for your seemingly unending knowledge on my queries, this advice works a treat. on another matter i am having trouble with my tail lamps not working, the side and and headlamps are working. going on the wiring diagram the side and tail lamps run on the same circuit, what are your thoughts on this one. the stop lights are working. when i run a live wire from the regulator to the tail lamps they all light up.a previous query you answered regarding repairing of the choke and ignition warning lights, on your advice are all working well, could this in any way have caused this tail lamp problem. i am not sure how long the tail lamps have been inoperable. thanking you in anticipation best regards Derrick. Smith (deckell).

There is obviously a break in the feed to the rear lights . The wires should be red in colour . According to the wiring diagram there is one wire from the switch to a two way connector which has an output to the rear and front, so that wire is complete as the fronts work . There is then one wire to the rear which is split to tail and number plates. I assume the number plates light isn't working either so you need to check that connector and the wire to the back . Unfortunately I don't know its location. As I said you are looking for the red wires.

Thank you for your assistance when i read your reply the penny dropped, there has been one lonely wire hanging under the dash for some time with no home to go. i attached a live wire to it from the regulator and we have lights. maybe i have not had tail lights for quiet some time. as for looking for different colored wires it is impossible as all wires are dark brown. this vehicle began it`s life out in the gold fields in the central western australian desert so it would be safe to say the wires have been baked in the excessive heat out there. Thanks again and best regards Derrick.Smith.
